2010- 2011 Season

2010- 2011 was marked with a season-long celebration of 100 years of Theatre at the University of North Dakota.

On January 3, 1910 the Sock and Buskin Society was formed at UND.  The organization was the first theatre performance group on campus and created some renoun with their work on outdoor pageants.

In December 1917 the group changed their name to the Dakota Playmakers and for the next half-century would perform over 200 productions.  In 1963 the group dedicated Burtness Theatre, the first facility designed specifically for peformance on the UND campus.

1971-72 saw one final name change as the Department of Theatre Arts was formed within a newly created College of Fine Arts.
