2001 | 2002 - Lab Theatre floor is painted black for the first time in Burtness Theatre's history. |
2003 - Lobby is repainted with a "Retro Styling". |
2004 - Theatre Arts receives the McDermott Award for Departmental Excellence by the UND Foundation. |
2005 - Thanks to the College of Arts and Sciences for funding to replace 21 drapes in the Lab Theatre. Drapes were installed prior to the opening of Metamorphoses. -Long time Costume Designer Katherine Jacobs retires. She had logged about 200 shows in her career at UND. -Air Conditioning is added to the costume shop. - Tracey Lyons Joins the Department as Costume Designer. - Patricia Downey Joins the Department as a 1 year replacement for Dr. Mary Cutler who is on Sabbatical. |
2006 - Department Secretary Doris Bjornseth leaves. She joined the Department in 2000. - Scenic and Lighting Designer Greg Gillette retires. Greg joined the Department in 1988. - Brad Reissig Joins the department as Scenic and Lighting Designer. - Job Christenson joins the department as Dance Instructor with Patricia Downey. - Marilyn Gregoire joins the department as Department Secretary. |
2007 - Patricia Dowey leaves. She had joined the department in 2005 as a one year faculty member. - Caroline Caine joins the department as Dance Instructor with Job Christenson. |
2008 - Costumer Designer Tracey Lyons leaves. Tracey had joined the Department in 2005. -Assistant Professor Dr. Jim Williams leaves. Jim had joined the Department in 2001. -Michelle Davidson joins the department as Costume Designer. |
2009 -Dance is approved as a new minor within the Department of Theatre Arts -Department faculty member Dr. Mary Cutler retires. Mary had joined the department in 1990. -Emily Cherry joins the Department to teach directing and head the new Musical Theatre curriculum -Lon Hurst joins the Department to teach voice and movement for the actor and head the new Dance minor. |
2010 -The Department of Theatre Arts celebrates our 100th year with an October Alumni Reunion, February 2011 recognition at the University of North Dakota Founder's Day and special activities throughout the year. |
